Max Verstappen will continue to compete for the world title in 2025. It seems that the Dutchman will, however, shift his focus to other projects after 2028. Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill responded quite indignantly to one of those plans. Calum Nicholas, a former mechanic of Verstappen,
predicted that the four-time world champion would retire from Formula 1 after this season, but he would still achieve a fifth title according to the Brit. Juan Pablo Montoya, former F1 driver also opened the door to a possible boycott if Verstappen was banned. However, it seems very likely that Verstappen will remain active in F1 until 2028.
Indignation over Verstappen's plans to race in Le Mans at 31?
Verstappen told autosport.com:
“I want to do Le Mans, I have a contract until 2028. I'll be 31 years old at the end of it. That is still very young.” Damon Hill, who became the Formula 1 world champion in 1996 with Williams, reposted this statement on his Instagram and appeared quite indignant.
“Like, I didn't get into Formula 1 until I was 32, and I'd already done Le Mans,” the Brit said replying to the Dutchman's quote. See the story below!
