In a particularly tough Friday for Red Bull in Hungary, Yuki Tsunoda can at least say he finished the day ahead of a struggling Max Verstappen.

Friday at the Hungaroring was far from easy for Red Bull, with Max Verstappen finishing ninth in the morning FP1 session and dropping to 14th in the afternoon. He complained that driving his RB21 felt like being "on ice."

Things went slightly better for Yuki Tsunoda, who finished nearly nine tenths off the leader Lando Norris but at least had the satisfaction of ending the day ahead of his teammate.

Tsunoda edges Verstappen in FP2

Speaking after FP2 about how the session went, the Japanese driver said: ''I think the balance itself is not the main issue, to be honest.''

''I think where we're struggling at is the grip that normally I should feel, and that's where we're lacking at.''

He then added: ''At least for our side, at least from FP1, a bit of step from that so at least some positives steps, which is which is good. I still think overall as a team we were struggling.''

When asked how Red Bull plans to turn things around, Tsunoda concluded: ''We'll see. It's not probably an easy thing. We changed a lot of things into the FP2 and I'm sure there's something that we can take positive from Max's car and my car as well.''

''So we just combine each other and I feel like we have to find something, a bit more core limitation that we're probably missing and we have to find out for sure to qualify tomorrow.''
