Red Bull Racing can look back on a great year.
Max Verstappen managed to secure the world championship, while the team found an excellent second driver in
Sergio Perez.
Christian Horner is proud of his team.
Horner's eyes lit up as he watched Verstappen cross the finish line first at the
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Dutchman passed
Lewis Hamilton on the final lap to ensure Red Bull won the world title for the first time since 2013. Back then, it was
Sebastian Vettel who was the best of the season.
According to the team boss, Verstappen and Perez provided a nice rapport.
"The atmosphere in the team with you two was phenomenal," Horner responded in conversation with
Speedweek.com.
"Sergio is such a great teammate. He said you owe him another beer because you helped him." Verstappen had an immediate response to that.
"It's going to be more than one beer!"Perez was crucial in final race
Perez showed his value in Abu Dhabi. The Mexican held off Lewis Hamilton for quite some time in the race, giving Verstappen the opportunity to catch up with his rival. It ultimately helped Verstappen to win the world title.
