According to Lando Norris, it would be silly to say only the McLaren drivers are competing for the 2025 world title. In the Barcelona paddock, Max Verstappen was also asked about whether a fifth title is still possible for him.
"For me it doesn't really feel like a fight, to be honest," the Dutchman began to GPblog among others.
"I just try to do my best, have a bit of fun out there, but yes, it's not like this season up until this point is going to be in my memory forever."
According to Verstappen, this is not the exciting season for him so far. "I'm more excited if I know that we're going to be super quick. That's the most exciting. The rest, I mean, I always try to do my best. But this year so far, it had some real positives, but of course also some negatives. With some races we are of course really off the pace which is not enjoyable."
Even as his fighting spirit does not change, he also added: "That is also never disappearing. But that also doesn't mean that I'm enjoying it or loving it. I like it. It's not going to be, up until this point, not going to be remembered forever for me."

Verstappen doesn't believe this Grand Prix will be decisive

In terms of whether this weekend can be a good indicator for the rest of the season, the Dutchman explained that no matter what happens, Red Bull will still have their issues on other circuits.
"Possibly yes, possibly not. I mean, I know that our car is not good in low-speed and street circuits. So that's a fact that will stay also after Barcelona, so I don't think Barcelona is suddenly the one that you say like ‘oh, l this is now where you lose it or win it.’ I don't think you can you can say that."
