Max Verstappen, like many of his fellow F1 drivers, resides in Monaco. This weekend's Grand Prix serves as a sort of home race for the Dutchman. He lives in the Principality with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet, her daughter Penelope, and their newborn daughter Lily. Verstappen disclosed during the press conference, to GPblog and others, whether Lily would have her first Formula 1 experience at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Verstappen has said multiple times that he is not particularly fond of Grands Prix like Miami and Las Vegas, mainly due to the show that Americans put on around the event.
Monaco is regarded as the crown jewel of the calendar and draws crowds who want to have a taste of the atmosphere, even if sometimes their interest isn't primordially rooted in the sporting aspect of the weekend. Yet, Verstappen does not believe his 'home race' belongs in the same category as the American Grands Prix.
"From when I started to now, I don't think it has changed a lot. It's very exciting. Like I explained before, the format – the qualifying – is very important," said Verstappen.
Following up with what he thinks could improve the racing aspect of the Grand Prix in Monaco he pointed to a much discussed factor that the upcoming 2026 regulations will being to tackle.
"The track, like I said, is narrow. These cars that we have currently are, for me personally, a little bit too big. It would be better if we go back to some smaller, narrower cars. I think that would only help racing here around Monaco. Hopefully, we can achieve that a bit."
"I know the coming cars are going to be a little bit smaller, but I think it’s still not enough. Hopefully, in the future we can try and make them smaller again. But we’ll see."

Will Lily Verstappen make her first F1 appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix?

Verstappen's recently born daughter has not yet been seen in a paddock, with her being born prior to the Miami Grand Prix. Then, the Dutchman missed the start of the weekend, the media day, to be with his child's mother and girlfriend Kelly Piquet, their newborn Lily and his stepdaughter, Piquet's daughter, Penélope.

Regarding her daughter Lily going to her first ever Formula Once race this weekend at Monaco, Verstappen tempered the expectations of those who hoped to catch a glimpse of the child for the first time: “No. It’s better she stays at home. It’s more relaxed for her."
