Max Verstappen was the driver who led the most laps in the 2025 Formula 1 season.
The Red Bull Racing driver fell narrowly short of claiming a fifth Formula 1 title in a row in 2025.
After trailing the championship leader by 104 points at one point, Verstappen eventually finished two points behind Lando Norris in the standings.
The Dutchman did end up topping another statistic after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. By running an alternative strategy and staying out longer, Oscar Piastri came close to finishing first in this regard, but he was with two laps behind.

World champion Lando Norris led only the third-most laps this season with 373. The only other driver to break the 100-lap mark was George Russell, who finished with 103.
Four other drivers also led at least one lap last year: Charles Leclerc, Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton and Alexander Albon.

While he missed out on the title in 2025, the Dutchman's stunning comeback was recognized in different ways.
For example, Verstappen topped both the drivers' and team bosses' list of top 10 drivers of the season.
He is currently enjoying his holiday in Brazil before the 2026 Formula 1 season gets underway.
