Damon Hill has again opined on Max Verstappen's driving and questions the fans' 'bizarre' choice. The former F1 champion often gives his take on the ins and outs of F1. As such Hill also shared his thoughts on Verstappen crashing into George Russell in the final moments of the Grand Prix, and also judged the fans' decision to vote the Dutchman as the driver of the day
Hill astonished by F1 fans' choice
Some people might have been surprised at the end of the race, when Max Verstappen was revealed to have won driver of the day, the award that counts the fans' votes for the driver they feel drove the best race On Instagram Hill posted a photo of Verstappen and a surprised smiley face emoji.
In two other posts, he named Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso as drivers who, according to him, should have been named Driver of the Day.
Hill sees things being 'as usual' with Verstappen
On X Hill acknowledged the work of Oscar Piastri at the same time he found Red Bull's to be lacking. "Well done Oscar Piastri. Had it all under control from a dominant pole. Red Bull are fighting with everything they've got. But like a wounded animal, they are dangerous to approach."
Hill then replied to a comment from an user on the Elon Musk owned social media platform making his view on the incident and Verstappen himself known once again: "It was a little ill judged. Maybe he thought he'd done enough to satisfy the 'giving back the place' bit? The rest was over the top. As usual."
