Max Verstappen is set to use a new racing number for the 2026 F1 season. The Dutchman has already achieved success with number 3.
There are many images of past champions, such as Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, driving go karts with their current F1 numbers (44 and 14) on them.
Verstappen previously explained why he is so fond of his new number. He said: "It's the shape of the number that I liked when I was a kid."
During his first year in single-seater racing, the Dutchman has already achieved victories using his next F1 number.

In 2014, Verstappen travelled to the United States to compete in the Florida Winter Series. A total of 12 races were held at Sebring, Palm Beach, and Homestead-Miami. The event was organized by the Ferrari Driver Academy, with no overall championship at stake.
Many well-known names featured alongside the now four-time F1 world champion. Among the participants were F1 drivers Lance Stroll and Nicholas Latifi, 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Antonio Fuoco, and commentator Will Buxton. Highlights of Verstappen’s moments in Florida are available on YouTube as well.
In this series, Verstappen used number 3, winning two races and finishing on the podium on three other occasions.
Before making his F1 debut in 2015, Verstappen competed in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, the Macau Grand Prix and the Zandvoort Masters as well.
In the first series, he used the number 30, at Macau he had the number 5, and he had the number 1 on his Formula car for the first time at Zandvoort.
When he joined Toro Rosso in Formula 1, the Dutchman couldn't select 3 because of Daniel Ricciardo, but he will be able to use it in 2026.
