Gianpiero Lambiase will not be in Max Verstappen's "head" this weekend. The Dutch world champion will have to make do without the man he's stated to not be willing to work without.

Verstappen without his right hand at Spa

Max Verstappen will go into this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix at Spa without his long‑time race engineer, Gianpiero “GP” Lambiase, behind the pit wall.

Lambiase is absent due to personal reasons and will reportedly return for the next race at Hungaroring.

In his place, Red Bull has appointed veteran engineer Simon Rennie, currently Group Leader of Simulation Engineering, to step into the role for the weekend.

Rennie brings extensive experience, having previously engineered for Mark Webber, Daniel Ricciardo, Alex Albon and Kimi Räikkönen.

Verstappen has expressed confidence in Rennie, noting their familiarity through simulator work and praising how quickly Rennie adapted in practice sessions.
