Alpine is entering a new era as Renault Group announces a change at the helm of its high-performance brand. The appointment of the new CEO marks a strategic move aimed at accelerating the transformation of the Alpine brand within a rapidly evolving automotive and motorsport landscape.

Renault Group has announced a significant leadership change that could shape the future of its performance brand, Alpine. François Provost, a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience within the Group, has officially been appointed CEO of Alpine, succeeding interim leader Duncan Minto.

Provost steps into the role with a deep well of international and strategic expertise, having previously served as Chief Procurement, Partnerships, and Public Affairs Officer. With 23 years at Renault Group, his career reflects a blend of operational excellence and global vision — two qualities that will be crucial as Alpine continues its ambitious evolution on and off the racetrack.

Alpine, which has been gaining momentum as Renault's cutting-edge and performance-oriented division, is expected to benefit from Provost’s appointment through continued international expansion, a sharper strategic focus, and an emphasis on partnerships. His knowledge of the Group's inner workings and the automotive sector’s broader challenges position him as a steady hand in a time of rapid transformation.

Jean-Dominique Senard, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed full confidence in the new CEO: “I am confident that François Provost will lead the Group with discernment and determination in an environment that demands both rigor in execution, strategic vision, and the ability to innovate. In this rapidly changing industry, his determination and sense of responsibility will be true assets to guide the teams and sustain our momentum.”

Senard also thanked Duncan Minto for his brief but valuable stewardship during the transition phase.

In his first official statement, Provost emphasized his commitment to the Group’s values and future: “It is with pride and gratitude that I welcome my appointment... I will dedicate all my energy and passion to contributing – alongside our 100,000 employees, our dealers, suppliers, and partners – to the development of our Group, one of the flagships of French industry for the past 127 years.”

He also acknowledged the strength of Alpine’s current position: from its innovative product line to the growing recognition of its Formula 1 team, which plays a pivotal role in the brand’s identity and technical development.

What’s Next for Alpine?

As Alpine continues its journey as a standalone brand focused on performance, electrification, and innovation, Provost will likely prioritize the implementation of the Group’s long-term strategic roadmap. That includes Alpine’s all-electric future, ongoing Formula 1 commitments, and global brand positioning — all while navigating the competitive and fast-evolving automotive landscape.

With this leadership appointment, Alpine appears well-poised to accelerate its transformation from a niche sports car brand into a key pillar of Renault Group’s future.
