Could Isack Hadjar be Max Verstappen's teammate next season? Guenther Steiner shared his verdict in on this question on GPblog's podcast.
After qualifying in P4 on Saturday for the Dutch Grand Prix, the Frenchman could remain in the same position after the start of the race.
After Lando Norris' DNF, the Racing Bulls driver was promoted to P3, and scored his first-ever podium in Formula 1 in Zandvoort.
Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner also looked ahead to what a possible promotion to lead to at Red Bull Racing.
''Maybe they have the need at Red Bull to promote him, because they have nobody else,'' Former Haas team principal Steiner stated.
''He's doing good, he's a Red Bull driver. Can he be the next talent, which at some stage will beat Max? Maybe. They have so many examples.''
''Maybe try to manage his arrival, make it clear to him that he doesn't have to beat Max, he just needs to stay close to him. Because it would be not good for Hadjar, but also not good for Red Bull if the next guy gets burned.''
The Italian-American also added: ''They start to think about and guide him into it. But then on the other side, If they've got this talent there, at some stage you need to find it.''
''If he is given the whole season, which he will be at Racing Bulls, I say 'are you ready now?' I don't know him this well, but they are around him all the time. They can see how much he developed over a year, from where they started, where they got him, to see if he's ready.''
On the podcast, the former team principal also discussed a potential sabbatical year for Lewis Hamilton.
