For Max Verstappen, it's a busy Thursday. Early in the day, the Dutchman flew from Nice - close to his residence in Monaco - to Milton Keynes, where the Red Bull Racing factory is located. Particularly in the British media, there was much speculation about the reason for the visit. Did Verstappen fly to England to bolster the morale of the staff, after team boss Christian Horner was dismissed this week?
Ted Kravitz, the pit reporter for Sky Sports, seemed convinced during a broadcast this Thursday. The Brit suggested that by visiting the team members, Verstappen wants to show his commitment, at least in the short term.
However, reality is different, as GPblog has learned. Verstappen had actually travelled to England for a completely different reason. A visit that, by the way, had been planned for some time, at least before Horner's departure from the racing team.
Max Verstappen spends his Thursday in the Red Bull Racing simulator. There, he works on the tuning of the RB21 for the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix. This race takes place in just over two weeks at his beloved Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
Undoubtedly, Verstappen will bump into numerous colleagues in Milton Keynes. But it is purely coincidental that Verstappen is in England at Red Bull on this particular day.
