A year ago, during the Interlagos weekend, Lewis Hamilton took to the track in one of Ayrton Senna’s most iconic McLaren cars, thrilling the Brazilian crowd.

Specifically, the seven-time world champion took to the track in the historic McLaren MP4/5B, the car with which the Brazilian legend claimed the second of his four World Championship titles in 1990.

The Englishman took to the track in the rain shortly before the race as part of the "Senna Sempre" tribute, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the three-time world champion’s passing, who died at Imola on May 1, 1994.

Towards the end of the lap, Hamilton also grabbed a Brazilian flag, waving it from the car in front of the crowd, later saying it was “the greatest honour of my career.”

In one of his final races with Mercedes before moving to Ferrari this year, Hamilton had little luck, finishing just 10th, while his teammate George Russell ended the race just off the podium behind the two Alpine drivers.

Will Interlagos deliver its iconic rain rain show in 2025 Brazil GP?

Last year’s race at Interlagos was heavily affected by a torrential downpour, forcing the drivers to compete in extreme conditions, from which Max Verstappen emerged victorious.

Starting from 17th on the grid, the Dutchman produced a masterful drive, aided at times by a timely red flag, climbing through the field to take the checkered flag and end a winless streak that had lasted several months.

Will the weather throw up surprises again this time or dry conditions will prevail? Here’s the current forecast.
