Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet have recently become parents to their first daughter, Lily. The first photos of the proud family have appeared online, but the baby's face was hidden. Why did the parents choose this?

Just before the Grand Prix weekend in Miami, Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet's first child was born. It was only after the birth that it became clear it was a girl. The couple had chosen the name Lily. Now at around two months old, the first photos of her have surfaced online.

On Piquet's Instagram page, there are multiple posts featuring Lily. In all the photos, the little girl's face is hidden. While this initially seemed coincidental, it is not. In photos from the gender reveal of the upcoming baby of Nelson Piquet Jr., Kelly's brother, and his wife, Kelly poses with little Lily. In these photos, a white heart is placed over the girl's face.

Thus, Verstappen and Piquet seem to have consciously chosen not to show Lily's face online (yet). Many parents choose this nowadays. The reason is to protect the child from the harsh opinions people can sometimes have online. Only when the child is old enough to decide for themselves whether they want to appear online or not, does this change.

Interestingly, Penelope, Kelly’s oldest daughter from her previous relationship with Daniil Kvyat, has been visible online from a young age. It could be that Verstappen prefers that his child not be shown online. It's also possible that the daughter of the two will be made visible online after she's reached a certain age. What exactly the parents have agreed upon remains, of course, unclear.
