Every year, all Formula 1 teams are required to shut down operations for a set period during the summer break. The rule was introduced to ensure that team staff get the opportunity to recharge during the relentless pace of the season.

Without it, the temptation to keep working in pursuit of better results would be hard to resist. That’s why the FIA strictly enforces these closures.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen has headed for sunnier skies with Kelly Piquet and their daughters, Penelope and Lily. It’s the first summer break since Lily’s birth, making it the perfect opportunity for the four-time world champion to enjoy some quality family time. Earlier this week, his Brazilian partner shared a glowing holiday snap of the pair on her Instagram Stories, with both looking radiant.

Charles Leclerc

Charles Leclerc kicked off his summer on a sporty note, hitting the paddle court at his residence in Monaco with his dog Leo watching closely from the sidelines. There’s also been no shortage of downtime — the Ferrari driver was spotted relaxing on a sunbed, enjoying a scoop of his own ice cream.

George Russell

George Russell has headed for the water, spending his days off on the yacht he recently purchased with his girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt. It’s certainly not a bad way to spend a vacation.
