Everything is set for the start of the Interlagos weekend: follow the Brazilian GP FP1 live with GPblog!
With the Mexican GP behind us — a weekend that crowned a new championship leader thanks to Lando Norris’s uncontested victory — all eyes now turn to Interlagos, where the track promises a potentially decisive crossroads in the fight for the title.
With four weekends still to go, Norris now leads the championship — but only by a single point over his teammate, who seems to have lost some of the spark that defined him for much of the season.
Max Verstappen remains ever in contention. He closed the gap on the Australian in Mexico but still sits 10 points behind Norris. The focus now shifts to Interlagos, the track where the Dutchman pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks in F1 history last year. With just one practice session to fine-tune setups, Verstappen could find an advantage, much like he did in Austin.

With Interlagos on the horizon, the F1 championship fight heats up after Lando Norris’s dominant performance in Mexico. The British driver delivered a flawless weekend at the Hermanos Rodríguez circuit, crossing the finish line an astonishing 30 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc — the largest winning margin of the season so far.
Oscar Piastri, meanwhile, endured a difficult weekend, missing out on the podium and seeing his championship lead shrink as Max Verstappen closes the gap. The Brazilian GP will also feature the return of the sprint format, the penultimate sprint event of the season alongside Qatar.
Here’s the full schedule of the Brazilian GP weekend.
