Hamilton believed to have delivered his 'farewell speech'
Formula 1 race winner and former steward Johnny Herbert has stated he believes Lewis Hamilton has likely delivered his farewell to the Scuderia Ferrari team with his words at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The three-time F1 race winner, in his assessment of Hamilton’s debut season with the Ferrari outfit, pointed to his body language and overall demeanour during press conferences as a sign the seven-time world champion could be looking to call it a day on his career.
Hamilton endured a challenging campaign with the Maranello-based outfit, failing to secure a Grand Prix podium finish through the 24 races held in the 2025 season.
Norris receives F1 World Drivers' Championship trophy
Lando Norris was also presented with the F1 drivers’ title at the FIA Gala in Uzbekistan. The McLaren driver, who was present alongside his teammate Oscar Piastri and the Woking-based team hierarchy, received the prize from FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem in Tashkent.
Norris’ title triumph saw him become the 35th drivers’ champion in the history of Formula 1 and the first McLaren driver to win the drivers’ crown since Hamilton in the 2008 season.
The British driver won the drivers’ crown by two points ahead of Max Verstappen, with Piastri a further 11 points behind the Dutch driver.
