After a qualifying session full of surprises — including Charles Leclerc’s first pole position of the season — all the ingredients are in place for a spectacular Hungarian Grand Prix, with the weather potentially shaking up team strategies once again.

Lining up second and third on the grid are the two McLarens, with Piastri and Norris ready to spoil the party for the Monegasque and the Maranello squad — all while keeping a close eye on the championship battle, which remains tightly contested just ahead of the summer break.

A strong result as well for Aston Martin, which for the first time this season managed to place both cars in fifth and sixth position, just behind a consistently impressive George Russell, who once again showed great form yesterday.

It was a tough day instead for Max Verstappen and Red Bull. The four-time world champion only just managed to make it through to Q3, ultimately qualifying in eighth place. Another day to forget for Yuki Tsunoda, who finished 16th and was once again knocked out in Q1.

It was also a day to forget for Lewis Hamilton, who was eliminated in Q2 and will once again start from the back, lining up 13th on the grid.

Will weather affect the Hungarian GP?

According to the FIA weather report, the sky should be 'mostly cloudy to overcast with a moderate to high chance of showers up to level 3 and possibly thundery in the morning. Improvement expected in the afternoon with decreasing rain and a clearer sky.'

Will these two be able to fight their way back through the field? Will the rain play a decisive role? All that remains is to wait for the lights to go out, with the Hungarian Grand Prix set to get underway at 3 PM local time — weather permitting.
