Former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner took to the stage as part of KTM Tech 3's launch event which showcased the liveries for the 2026 season.
While opting for the familiar navy blue and orange design of previous years, along with the iconic Red Bull sponsorship seen widely across motorsport these days, one thing that will be different for the team this season is their new co-owner.
Steiner was in attendance during last year's Catalan Grand Prix and saw Tech 3 rider obtain a season-best podium for the team. KTM will be hoping that the former F1 boss will bring them more good luck on the track come the season opener in Thailand on 1 March.
With a strong lineup of former Yamaha title contender Maverick Vinales and former Ducati race winner Enea Bastianini, the team certainly does have potential to grab some good results throughout the year.
Last year the pair finished 18th and 14th respectively, with Vinales missing a large portion of the season due to injury. He would have claimed a memorable podium in Qatar if not for a tyre pressure infringement which saw him penalised and drop well below his second-place finish.
Tech3 is one of the oldest satellite teams on the grid and first partnered with KTM in 2018 following a 19-year partnership with Yamaha. The team has been a home for the likes of Cal Crutchlow, Andrea Dovizioso and Tony Elias in the past.
This year, with two more experienced riders looking to prove themselves, Guenther may have stepped in at the perfect time. With drastic regulation changes also on the horizon for next year, there is every possibility that Tech3 could become one of the more competitive satellite teams on the grid.
