Honda unveiled their new 2026 season livery today with an online presentation to showcase the bikes of Joan Mir and Luca Marini for the coming year.

As one of the sport's most successful ever teams, a lot of eyes are always on the Japanese manufacturers and their plans for the future. While their performance hasn't been up to par generally in recent years, there were glimmers of hope towards the tail end of the 2025 season which saw the team secure multiple podiums and climb to finish 8th in the overall team standings.

The factory team were largely outshone last year by Johann Zarco in their satellite LCR team as the Frenchman secured a memorable victory during a wet weather race at his home Grand Prix in Le Mans.

This year, the factory team will be hoping to build on their promising results and improvements from last year.

Though Honda have historically been recognized for their partnership with Repsol in MotoGP, with bikes shining in the trademark orange and red of the Spanish sponsors, the team recently switched to British oil company Castrol which once again makes its presence felt on the 2026 design.

While the LCR team have rocked the Castrol sponsorship for some years now, the factory team only switched last year, marking something of a new era for the team who will be targetting further podiums and victories this season.

With rumours swirling that 2021 World Champion Fabio Quartararo could be breaking-off his long term alliance with Yamaha to join Honda, the team will be doing everything possible to ensure that they are able to meet the rider's expectations.

The Honda performed well at the Sepang Shakedown test last week, with experienced veteran Aleix Espargaro describing the bike as one of the best MotoGP bikes he had ever ridden.
