Fernando Alonso wishes he had not lost so many points through ill fortune in 2025's tight midfield battle.
“I would like to have a little bit more points at this part of the championship.”- Fernando Alonso
The Aston Martin driver has had an up-and-down season in 2025 and has suffered five Grand Prix retirements and a few Sprint accidents as well, the joint most of any other driver.
A handful of these DNFs came when Alonso was running in the points and it has led the Spanish driver to rue these misfortunes as Haas close to just two points behind the British racing green coloured team in the constructors championship.
Just 20 points separate P6 to P9 in the constructors championship with three rounds to go.
Speaking after the Brazil GP Alonso predicted a tight battle in the midfield.
He said: “We try, we try I think it's gonna be up to Abu Dhabi.
“I would like to have a little bit more points at this part of the championship.

“We lost 12 to 15 points with reliability in Monaco with the engine and China with the brakes and some other races. Even Monza with the suspension with a stone from Lando.
"So we will probably miss a couple of those points in Abu Dhabi, but we will try in the next three races to outscore them [Haas].”
Courtesy of Oliver Bearman’s back-to-back P4 and P6 finishes in Mexico and Brazil, Haas F1 have closed the gap to seventh place Aston Martin down to just two points.
