Lewis Hamilton had a difficult weekend in Hungary, where he was very hard on himself. The British media described it as one of his lowest points in his F1 career.

Lewis Hamilton could not progress to Q3 during the qualification for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Brit qualified in twelfth place and eventually finished in this position. Throughout the weekend, the seven-time world champion was hard on himself during his press moments and even suggested that Ferrari should replace him.

The Guardian focused on Hamilton's difficult weekend but also mentioned Max Verstappen: ''After a trying weekend including qualifying in 12th after which he described his driving as “absolutely useless”, Lewis Hamilton could manage to also finish only 12th for Ferrari. While Max Verstappen was similarly disappointed with ninth, having been cleared after an investigation when he appeared to have forced Hamilton wide off the track.''

BBC

The BBC mainly discuss the future of the seven-time world champion in Formula 1, but also Ferrari's: ''As is often the case when Hamilton struggles, not only does his mood plumb the depths, but the F1 rumour mill spins into overdrive. Was Hamilton over the hill, some wondered after qualifying? Would he even quit Ferrari at the end of the year, or perhaps even before the end of the season?''

''That one, at least, Hamilton rejected, saying he would be back in the car at the Dutch Grand Prix at the end of August after F1's summer break. Anyone who knows Hamilton, and his determination, and refusal to give up, knows the answers to the other questions about his future, too.''

The Telegraph

The Telegraph spoke of a low point in the Brit's career: ''Hamilton joined Ferrari with the hopes of winning a record eighth world drivers’ title. But the Italian team have trailed well behind pace-setters McLaren and Hamilton is being comfortably beaten by his team-mate. His comments on Sunday evening suggest that all is not well at Maranello.''

''Fourteen rounds into his first season at Ferrari he trails Leclerc 109 points to 151. The Monegasque has taken five podiums but Hamilton none. It is possible that Hamilton has hit the lowest point of a staggeringly successful career.''
