The new Cadillac drivers’ lineup has conquered its first podium without even racing a single FP1. In this special ranking, only Ferrari and Aston Martin sit ahead.

Cadillac has recently announced its 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup in a “Matrix-style” reveal. Former Mercedes and Sauber driver Valtteri Bottas, along with former Red Bull and Racing Point driver Sergio Pérez, will make their return to the grid next year.

The special ranking that gives Cadillac its first podium

Following the official announcement, fans quickly noticed that Cadillac had already claimed its first podium in F1 history at least in terms of experience. The Finnish and Mexican drivers form the third-most experienced lineup on the grid.

Adding together Pérez and Bottas’ careers gives a combined total of 527 race starts. That figure puts Cadillac just behind Ferrari (531) and Aston Martin (594). Surprisingly, other top teams like Mercedes, Red Bull, and McLaren are well down the order.

Mercedes, for instance, sits second-to-last with 156 starts, largely because rookie Kimi Antonelli has only 14 races under his belt. McLaren isn’t much better off, with 202 starts split between Lando Norris (142) and Oscar Piastri (60).

A fun detail emerges from this ranking: Fernando Alonso alone would place fourth with his 415 starts, ahead of the entire Williams team total of 337.
