Michael Schumacher’s Benetton car is set to go up for auction, and it is expected to command a substantial fee.

The B192-05 challenger, which Schumacher drove en route to his maiden Formula 1 win at the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix, is expected to command a fee in excess of $10 million.

Schumacher, who burst onto the F1 scene in 1991 at the race in Spa with the Jordan F1 outfit, saw his rapid rise catch the attention of many within the paddock and would join the Benetton outfit for the following season under the leadership of Flavio Briatore.

In a 1992 season dominated by Nigel Mansell and the Williams outfit, Schumacher was able to rack up seven more podiums in addition to the race win he achieved at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

However, the striking yellow, green, and blue Benetton B192-05 is now being offered for sale through Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty-backed platform.

Schumacher’s time at Benetton laid the foundation for his historic success. He went on to claim back-to-back World Drivers’ Championships in 1994 and 1995 before moving to Ferrari, where he achieved five consecutive titles and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest ever.
