F1 CEO spends his summer vacation on a boat with Alpine exec

The summer break is now in full swing and the Formula 1 staff are enjoying the mandatory two-week shutdown. Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, is spending his vacation with Flavio Briatore.

Formula 1 is currently in its summer break. There are four weeks between the Grand Prix of Hungary and the Grand Prix of the Netherlands. Within these four weeks, there is a mandatory shutdown of two weeks. During this time, F1 teams are not allowed to work on the car.

Several Formula 1 drivers have already shown their summer plans on social media. Most are on a yacht in a warm country with their partner, friends, and family. For example, Max Verstappen was in Portugal with Kelly Piquet, Penelope, Lily Verstappen, and his in-laws, including Nelson Piquet Jr.

Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, is also spending his summer vacation on a boat, but with Flavio Briatore, the executive advisor of Alpine. Domenicali has shared photos on Instagram. The two both come from Italy and have often vacationed together.

Domenicali has previously announced that Formula 1 needs to have a serious discussion with the F1 teams about the current sprint format. According to the Italian, sprint weekends belong to the future of the premier class and adjustments should be looked at. This means Domenicali is open to more sprint weekends per season, but also in a different format, such as with a reversed grid.
