A Qatar Grand Prix win for Max Verstappen sees him overtake Oscar Piastri in the drivers' standings, while Lando Norris missed his first title-winning opportunity.
A strategy blunder from McLaren saw both drivers miss out on a safety car pit stop and lose out on 26 seconds, allowing Verstappen to race away with the victory.
As a result, Verstappen's title fight continues on to the season finale at Abu Dhabi, while also overtaking Piastri, who tried his best to find his way to the front but could not make it happen.
Norris, who made it past Kimi Antonelli to take P4 and some vital points, now holds a 12-point lead over Verstappen before the last race of the season and a grandstand title decider.
Carlos Sainz's fine P3 finish at the osail International Circuit sees him fly up the standings and go onto P9, just nine points behind teammate Alex Albon.
