As always, let’s take a quick look at today’s two main news stories on Saturday, August 16, while we await Formula 1’s return to the track after the summer break.

Ricciardo suffers motorbiking accident, gets taken to the hospital

Daniel Ricciardo has suffered an injury while riding a motorbike in Australia, just days after making his first public appearance since making the decision to retire from Formula 1, according to rumours.

The eight-time Grand Prix winner is believed to have picked up a collarbone injury whilst motorbiking through the Daintree region in northern Queensland.

Ricciardo was taken to Mossman Hospital, part of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, for treatment.

While the exact details of the accident are still unclear, reports suggest the former Red Bull and Racing Bull driver's mood was good despite the accident.

Schumacher resets timeline for Aston Martin: 'Then it should be looked at'

Ralf Schumacher, former F1 driver turned analyst, recently made the claim that Aston Martin should dismiss Lance Stroll. Whilst he doesn't recant those statements, he does change the deadline.

Schumacher recently spoke about the need for Lawrence Stroll, the Aston Martin team owner to choose between 'feelings or success'.

The German was talking about the dismissal of the owner's son, Lance Stroll, from the team looking ahead to 2026. However, he has since pivoted his stance, shifting his gaze further into the future.
