Slip of the tongue or a hint?
Kelly Piquet made her first media appereance since the birth of new baby Lily. It was there that she might have releaved a secret the Verstappen-Piquet family has been keeping. With the two welcoming the birth of their first child together, could they be getting engaged, already engaged or evern married?
When talking about how she had always been around Formula 1 thanks to her father, Nelson Piquet, she said, "Eventually, I did marry an F1 driver. Or well, not married yet, but we have started a family.”
Was this purely a slip of the tongue or was she leaving a hint?
New steward to debut at pivotal time for Verstappen
Natalie Corsmit, a
Dutch steward, will make her official Formula 1 steward debut at the Canadian Grand Prix. While this is purely a coincidence, it does come at a pivotal time for
Max Verstappen.
This is not the only time Corsmit will be active as a steward, as she is set to participate in three other Grands Prix this 2025 season.
While the timing around her debut was purely coincidental, and the fact that Verstappen is close to a race ban does not take away from this monumental moment in her career.
On behalf of GPBlog, we congratulate Corsmit on her new opportunities and appreciate that the sport evolves with the current world status.
Red Bull races face an extreme fall from glory
After the first nine races of the 2025 season, it is clear that Red Bull Racing is struggling. Last year, in 2024, they were at the top of the Constructors' championship at this time. Now, they are down in fourth place. They currently have 144 points, which is less than half of last years (301). They are also one step above Williams who reside in P5.
Ferrari has stayed in second place. While Mercedes and McLaren have improved. McLaren currently holds a huge gap to the rest of the grid, with them having 362. Ferrari only has 165, making the gap 193 points between first and second place.
