The Brit was spotted partying late into the night at a club, as shown in several videos circulating online.

“I lasted until about 6 a.m., then we had a little McDonald’s in the morning,” he told The Telegraph. “I wanted McNuggets, but they didn’t have any because it was morning, so it was like sausage, egg, maybe some chicken… I don’t know. I regretted it.”

The Brit also revealed that he wanted to take inspiration from Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton on how to celebrate a championship win, but he was still happy with how it went, even though he couldn’t hold back his tears.

“I did cry quite a lot. I was going to look at Seb (Vettel). Seb’s always a good one for celebrations and always does cool, unique things. Lewis, too. So I was going to look back at some of them, I was thinking ‘What do I do? Do I need to copy some of these things?’ But I’m happy I didn’t in the end, so what played out was just what I felt and it was more just all in the moment and that’s what made it extra special.”

He also revealed that he experienced a mental “click” at a precise moment in the season, after struggling with a series of poor results compared to his teammate in the first part of the year, and explained how that shift helped him regain confidence in himself.

Here’s the race he was talking about.
