Formula 2 driver Richard Verschoor received a violent online threat after an incident with a Red Bull driver.
The threat involved someone saying they would attack him with a knife.
"In terms of hate: this year I had someone say they were going to chase me with a knife. I didn’t really enjoy reading that," Verschoor told Ziggo Sport. "A machete or something, he said, but anyway."
The reason for the threat was a crash with Red Bull driver Arvid Lindblad in Formula 2."I tapped him out, but, well, you also know that it (the threat) isn’t going to happen, you hope."

Verschoor currently sits P4 in the Formula 2 championship on 151 points. He trails championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli by 37 points with two weekends remaining in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Lindblad sits P7 on 109 points.
Richard Verschoor mentioned the threat after speaking about the mental resilience a driver needs.
He shared that mental resilience is something he admires about Lando Norris, the current leader in the world championship who has always been open about how hard it is to stay mentally fresh.
"Ultimately it’s about what works for you, and that’s what I really like about Lando," Verschoor continued. "It shows that it works for him. He talks to someone, apparently it helps. Who can blame him?"
Norris has recently had to overcome the challenge of being booed on the podium after both the Mexico and Brazil Grand Prix.
