From bad to worse: Tsunoda investigated for what could be a severe incident in Canada

In FP3, Tsunoda had a session to forget. Even as the Japanese driver now has the same equipment as his teammate, Max Verstappen, he finished in P20, 1.7 seconds behind Lando Norris during the final free practice session.

Meanwhile, the Dutchman set the fifth quickest time, being 0.273 seconds the McLaren driver.

Now, both Tsunoda and Bortoleto are investigated for red flag infringement at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The red flag was waved because of Oscar Piastri hitting the Wall of Champions 20 minutes into the session, which left some debris on the track.

Both drivers have reportedly overtook other cars under such conditions, and they will have to go to the stewards. It's Tsunoda's turn first at 14:15 local time, while the Brazilian driver will follow at 14:30.

At the Monaco Grand Prix, Oliver Bearman was also investigated for the same infringement. There, he overtook Carlos Sainz under red flag conditions. For that, he got a 10-place grid penalty and two penalty points on his super license.

Both Yuki Tsunoda and Gabriel Bortoleto were investigated for red flag infringements after FP3 of the Canadian Grand Prix. The stewards have now revealed their verdicts for the two drivers. As a result, he receives a 10-place grid and two penalty points on his super license, similarly to the penalty Oliver Bearman received for the same incident at the Monaco GP.
