Romain Grosjean experienced a serious accident in
Formula 1 in 2020. His crash in Bahrain meant his final season in F1 ended prematurely. As a result, Mercedes promised him a test drive with the German racing stable's car, but it has still not taken place. According to Grosjean, however, it is on the schedule.
The Frenchman hoped to say goodbye to
Formula 1 with a good feeling after the
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix one and a half years ago. During the Bahrain GP, however, things went badly wrong. Grosjean collided with
Daniil Kvyat and crashed, causing his car to catch fire.
Although Grosjean managed to exit his car, the damage was far from mild. The driver had to deal with some serious burns and was therefore quite shocked.
Grosjean awaits test drive at Mercedes
Toto Wolff therefore decided to contact Grosjean last calendar year and make him an offer to test drive the Mercedes car. Grosjean accepted that offer.
"I know everyone is asking about the Mercedes test," he stated on
His own YouTube channel.
"The test hasn’t happened yet, but we’ve got a helmet ready for it."
