During the Belgian Grand Prix weekend Lewis Hamilton said he sent documents to the Ferrari team. A week later at the Hungaroring, the Briton shared further details and how the team welcomed them.
At the FIA press conference, Charles Leclerc said he is not preparing documents himself with a smile.
Talking inside the Hungaroring's paddock, the seven-time world champion reflected on the documents he sent to the team he joined this past winter.
"There was no orders in it," Hamilton began. "It was just ideas of like, ‘hey, this is, if we did this, have we tried this, is there something… if we did this, perhaps we can ease up certain areas or we can be better.’ It's just about just having conversations, and Fred and I said, as a team it has been really responsive."
Entering a new team is a challenge in itself with getting to know the people and be on the same page soon after. How can Hamilton help making sure everybody is pulling in the same direction?
"Well, that I could tell you one day when I know exactly. But yes, as I said before, it's just trying to understand the environment that you're in. You have to adapt and I think the people you work with ultimately will learn to adapt to cater to you, which I think this year, as I said, the response has been amazing to the steps that we've taken in all areas."
He continued: "And the passion and the desire to continue to do better is what's the most amazing thing I think in this team. Just everyone just wants to do better and know and find ways of being better and that's why I know this team has absolutely every ingredient that's needed to succeed and I truly believe in that. That's why I signed here."
