Heat or Downpour? What the forecast says ahead of the 2025 U.S. GP
With Formula 1 heading back to the States for the United States Grand Prix, we take a look at the weather predictions for the race at COTA.
The race at Austin is known to often be a spectacle, with on-track action frequently proving to be a nail-biter. This year’s edition is slated to take place between October 17 and 25. However, will the weather play a part in this year’s event? Let’s take a look at the forecast for the race in Austin.
Friday, October 17 – FP1 & Sprint Qualifying
The weather for the first day of on-track running will see a high of 33°C, with winds at 10 to 15 km/h. Humidity is forecast to be around 58%, with zero chance of rain.
Saturday, October 18 – Sprint Race & Grand Prix Qualifying
Saturday, which marks the second day of on-track action, will feature both the Sprint Race and qualifying for the Grand Prix. The weather is expected to show a slight change compared to Friday.
It is predicted to be partly cloudy, with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible. The temperature is expected to reach 34°C, with winds at 10 to 15 km/h and humidity around 58%.
Sunday, October 19 – Grand Prix
The weather on Sunday is expected to be clearer than what’s forecast for qualifying day. The day is predicted to be mostly clear, with temperatures reaching a high of 33°C and winds at 10 to 15 km/h. A slight chance of a shower remains possible throughout the day at the Austin circuit.
