The Las Vegas Grand Prix has secured its place on the Formula 1 calendar for at least two more years, with officials confirming an extension through 2026 and 2027.
The race, which made its debut in 2023 on an initial three-year contract, also benefits from a longer-term commitment from its casino partners and a 10-year approval from Clark County to hold the event along the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
Despite the 2026 calendar including Las Vegas without a formal renewal announcement, senior representatives along with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority revealed during a media panel in Montreal that a two-year extension had been agreed upon.

A long term vision for the Las Vegas GP

Emily Prazer, president of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and F1’s chief commercial officer, stated: “We’ve agreed collectively that we’re going to do a two-year extension for 2026 and ’27. We want to continue evolving the event and have a longer-term vision. While the race faced some challenges early on, we’re confident it will remain a key fixture.”
Steve Hill, CEO and president of the LVCVA, added that the extension length is a practical step reflecting current planning needs, emphasising the race’s status as a permanent part of the calendar with potential further extensions in the future.
After a challenging inaugural year marked by high prices and a delayed practice session, adjustments were made for 2024, including significant hotel rate reductions. For 2025, the race start time has been moved earlier to better suit fans and paddock feedback, aiming to enhance the overall experience at this unique night race on the Strip.
