Lawson reveals his favourite for the drivers’ title: ‘It'd be very cool'
Liam Lawson has thrown his weight behind Max Verstappen to win the 2025 drivers’ championship.

The Racing Bulls driver, who spoke to GPblog in Abu Dhabi, said a victory for the Dutch driver and the team would be very pleasing. Lawson added that the narrative would be even more fitting considering the resurgence the Red Bull Racing outfit has experienced, particularly since the second half of the season.
“It would be very cool. I know it's been a big sort of fight back for the team in the last six months, and I was there at the start of the year when it was quite tricky,” he explained.
“It's great to see the team in a better place, and it would be very cool for them to come back and win,” he concluded.
Verstappen and the Red Bull team have enjoyed a resurgent second half of the 2025 campaign. The Dutch driver, who left his home race over a hundred points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, now heads into the season finale ahead of the Australian and just 12 points behind teammate Lando Norris.
Bortoleto backs Verstappen for 2025 title
Gabriel Bortoleto also echoed Lawson’s view, backing Verstappen to win the Drivers’ Championship. The Sauber driver described the Red Bull star as the best driver in the world.
Bortoleto, who is a close friend of Verstappen, added that in a certain case, he would also take a peek at the screens to watch the race unfold at the front of the grid.
