
After the Red Bull Ford engine hit the track at Imola during Racing Bulls’ demo day, fans were able to hear every new power unit for the first time. This is what Formula 1 will sound in 2026!
For the first time in history, Red Bull will compete with an in-house engine, developed in collaboration with Ford.
The power unit already completed its first miles inside the car on track during Racing Bulls' demo day. Videos capturing the occasion also share the sound of the new PU.
Mercedes teased the sound of its 2026 engine back in December. This year, a total of three customer teams will use the German brand's power unit: McLaren, Williams and Alpine.
Ferrari shared a video of its engine getting fired up on its on social media, however, a customer team beat them to revealing the sound the Italians' engine will make next year. This was due to a video posted by Cadillac during the team’s shakedown.
Honda was among the first ones to share a teaser of its new power unit for the 2026 season. The Japanese brand also hosted a special launch for its engine in Tokyo, where Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll and engine guru Andy Cowell were also present.
The German team completed the first shakedown of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will later host the first pre-season test.
