Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur has admitted that Ferrari and the rest of the grid are already "focused on 2026" with McLaren "on another planet".

The Scuderia are yet to be victorious in any Grand Prix in 2025 with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, despite sitting P2 in the constructors' championship.

McLaren have collected 12 wins and 27 podiums across the 2025 season, giving them 617 points, seeing them sit 337 points clear of Ferrari in P2.

Ferrari have only seen five podium finishes in Grands Prix this season, all coming by way of Charles Leclerc.

Vasseur hoping to hold on in the constructors' as 2026 prep ramps up

Holding onto that position is something that Vasseur would like to see his team do by the time the grid comes to the season finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, knowing the mathematical hopes that keep their constructors' championship dream alive are very slim.

"I think we have a couple of tracks where we are supposed to be in good shape, starting with the next one [Azerbaijan Grand Prix]. But we are historically always in good shape in Baku.

"But, for sure, the goal is now to finish P2 in the championship, as McLaren is on another planet. We are fighting with Red Bull and Merc, and the target for the team is to finish P2. The first target is to finish P2, and then to win the race."

Now, due to McLaren's 2025 dominance, Ferrari and Vasseur have made a decision regarding development for the rest of the year, admitting they won't be the only team doing the same.

"We are focused on 2026 for ages now, and I think it's true for us and true for everybody on the grid.

"I think only one team brought an upgrade this weekend, except the wings, because we have to adapt the car to the level of downforce. But I think for everybody now, we are focused on 2026."
