Mick Schumacher has taken his third podium in the World Endurance Championship with Alpine at Spa-Francorchamps. It comes almost 30 years after his father Michael won the Belgian Grand Prix with Benetton, standing on the same podium after the race. The German has recently added to his management team as he targets F1 return. Ferrari won the six-hour race at the iconic Spa circuit on Saturday afternoon, but this didn't come without challenges. Schumacher was in the number #36 Alpine to close the race and chased down the #50 Ferrari of Nicklas Nielsen. Unfortunately for the French team, their tyre degradation meant that they finished under a second behind the second-placed car, which had to lift and coast in certain segments to get to the end of the race. After six chaotic hours of racing. The race was won by Former F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi alongside Alessandro Pier Guidi and Brit James Calado.
The race was full of drama, with Peugeot and Alpine mixing with the Ferrari's for the majority of the race. A strategy error took the Peugeot's out of the running, while Aston Martin made a great step forward with their new V12 Valkyrie endurance program.
It marks the third time that Mick Schumacher has finished on the podium in the championship since joining the Alpine team in 2024. The next race in the championship will be the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The full raceweek takes place between the 11-15 June of this year.

F1 return for Schumacher?
The 26-year-old was in attendance at last weekend's Miami Grand Prix, catching up with former friends up and down the paddock. The German raced for Haas in 2021 and 2022, but his efforts to return to the grid since losing his seat have been fleeting. His most recent F1 role was at Mercedes as a test and reserve driver.
German racing driver Dirk Muller recently announced to motorsport-magazin: "I am at Mick’s side in an advisory capacity. Mick still has his team around him and I am part of it. We got together last year – and now the timing is right.
“Mick is not only extremely talented, but also a great person. I want to help wherever I can.”
Muller competed in IMSA last year and has close connections in the American world of motorsport, but there are
no solid reports suggesting that Mick Schumacher is close to a deal with Cadillac for 2026."(Mick) has the elbow grease to assert himself in the shark tank of F1," he continued. "Today, Mick is much further along than he was when he entered in 2021. He’s not looking back, only forward."
