Speaking about Adrian Newey's work at Aston Martin, the team's Deputy Technical Officer, Eric Blandin, complemented the famed F1 designer and delved into the impact he's currently having in the Silverstone-based squad. It is widely known that Newey's currently leading the charge in the design and build of the 2026 car as next year a revolutionary set of regulations that will affect both Power Unit and chassis, will be enforced in the sport.
Newey's 'holistic' approach propels the team forward
Blandin sheds light on the approach the acclaimed engineer is taking on Aston Martin's 2026 F1 car, in conversation with media the likes of GPblog at Imola.
"His prime focus is the AMR26, so next year's car. And when you start a project, you primarily focus on the architecture of the car, and that's where his experience and the way he's thinking about the car holistically is a massive plus."
"When he designs something, he's thinking about the whole aspect. Not just the aero side, he's thinking about the vehicle dynamics, etc. So it does help us make big big step forwards."
