Amanda Newey, wife of the British designer, chimed in with a tongue-in-cheek comment under Charles Leclerc’s post announcing his engagement to Alexandra Saint Mieux.

First spotted together in public at Wimbledon in 2023, the Ferrari driver and Alexandra quickly became one of the most talked-about couples in the paddock — right up there with Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet, who just a few days ago marked their fifth anniversary together.

Yesterday, it was Leclerc’s turn to “respond” to the Dutch-Brazilian couple, sharing a post across his social channels to announce his engagement to his partner.

The post, captioned “Mr & Mrs Leclerc,” came with a photo carousel that naturally included Leo the dog — who’s also become a bit of a paddock celebrity in recent months.

The Formula 1 community — along with fans worldwide — was quick to congratulate the Monegasque driver on the big news, and there was no shortage of some rather unique well-wishes, too. One of these came from Amanda Newey, longtime wife of Aston Martin’s current managing technical partner, who chose to send her congratulations in her own way.

“It makes me want Adrian to propose again, but he would need to step up his game!” she wrote under the post. This was then followed by a compliment to both the dog and the ring: “Congratulations to both of you. I love the dog collar (and the ring)!”

The couple hasn’t revealed a date or timeframe for the wedding, with Leclerc instead preparing to compete in the final four rounds of the 2025 season ahead of next year’s major regulation shake-up.
