
NFL head coach Sean Payton was inspired by Lewis Hamilton's success in Formula 1, but a trip to the Super Bowl did not materialize.

The seven-time Formula 1 world champion is also one of the owners of the Denver Broncos through the Walter-Penner group. The Colorado-based team was playing for a spot at the Super Bowl last Sunday.
Ahead of the game, former Super Bowl champion Payton told CBS Sports: "We are not interested in being P2. Lewis Hamilton is one of our owners. We are interested in being P1."
Ultimately, the Broncos lost 10-7 in a hard-fought game against the New England Patriots.
Still, Formula 1 will make its way to this year's Super Bowl, as Cadillac will reveal its livery for its first-ever F1 campaign during the half-time break.

The Ferrari driver was in action this morning at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya during the first pre-season test of the 2026 season.
This is the second time the Briton has sat in the SF-26 this week, after completing his first laps during the first pre-season test of the season on Tuesday.
After his first day, he said: "Really proud of everyone back at the factory for getting the car to this point. We got a lot of information on the car today. We definitely need to keep it up. Lots and lots to do, but a good first day."
