Lando Norris took the checkered flag in P1 at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. After the race he dismissed his critics' claims as 'crap', before stating he was not quite there yet with his quick McLaren MCL39.
Norris had been suffering in qualifying since the second round of the championship in China, unable to extract the full performance from his McLaren due to the car's intricacies when driven in anger on low fuel.
Due to his woes, the Briton was unable to get the edge on teammate Oscar Piastri, eventually relinquishing the lead in the F1 Drivers' championship after the Australian driver's win in Saudi Arabia.

Norris' rebuttal to critics: 'Everything you say is crap'

However, in Monaco of all places, Norris overturned the negative trend, and to his critics he has a short and concise message.
"People can write what they want," said the 2025 F1 Monaco Grand Prix winner to media including GPblog after the race. "It’s not up to me. People have their own opinions, they can do all of those things. Thing is, none of them are true, 99% of the time. So, it’s all crap."
"I don’t mind what people write as long as I know the truth and my team know the truth, and that’s fine. I’ve been working hard over the last few months to get back to having that momentum that I had in Australia, that confidence."
Nevertheless, despite the highly positive result, Norris believes he's not fully in sync with his Mclaren F1 car.
"What I felt this weekend was a small step forward, but it’s not 'it.' It’s not like I’ve nailed it now and everything’s back. There are still things that I need to work on."
"There are still things that – as a team – them giving me the equipment – and I don’t mean just making a quicker car, because the car’s quick enough – but giving me the things I need from the car in order to excel and maximise results, and the differences from last year to this year."

Title fight is back on, Norris reels in Piastri

After his win in Monte-Carlo Norris has cut-back the deficit to teammate Piastri in the championship standings, dialing down the momentum the Aussie driver had in the title race.
Now only 3 points separate the two McLaren drivers. Although, Max Verstappen is till very much in the championship race only 25 points adrift from the lead.
