For the first time since the Australian Grand Prix, Lando Norris managed to win in Formula 1. After the Monaco GP, he explained he is not a fan of the two mandatory pit stops.
When asked about the two mandatory pit stops, which was only introduced for this weekend, the Briton said: "Hated it. Because it's made it a lot more scary for me," he joked. "I don't know. I wish it was a one-stop. It would have been a lot more chilled."
Still, the McLaren driver is not satisfied with the rule itself. "It's not for me. The rules are not made for me, they're not made for us to enjoy it more or whatever. They're made for the fans. They're made to provide more entertainment for the viewers. I don't know if that was the case. Maybe it's a question I should ask you, was the two stop better than the one stop?"
Norris continued: “The rules are not for me, right? They're not made for us to have more fun or anything. They’re made for the fans. They're introduced to bring more action to the viewers. I don't know if that was the case.
About keeping the rule next year, he added: "Depends where I start."

Was Norris nervous about Verstappen staying out?

While Piastri's pit stop started a chain reaction and one-by-one Charles Leclerc and Norris pitted after each other, Max Verstappen stayed out until the very end waiting for a red flag. Otherwise, the Dutchman's P4 finish was already secured by that point.
"Yeah, what can I do? Nothing. It's out of my control. No real point in thinking about it. If it happened, it happened. He wins Monaco, well done. I was happy, I was just focusing, of course praying it didn’t happen, but I didn’t think of the rest," he said about Red Bull's strategy.
