Oscar Piastri is currently leading the F1 world championship, ahead of McLaren teammate Lando Norris by 9 points. 50 of those, though, have come 'courtesy' of this 'key' factor, which the Australian seeks to replicate.
After the race in the Belgian Ardennes, at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps tracks, the 'key' behind that race win, was acknowledged by Piastri by dedicating the win to them.
High Macfadyen dubbed Piastri's biggest fan and supporter attended the Belgian Grand Prix and watched his grandson soar to victory with a daring move over teammate Lando Norris at the start of the race.
After the chequered flag dropped and welcomed Piastri home to his final race win before the summer break, the McLaren driver dedicated his win to his grandfather. He later explained why.
Then he quickly picked up on a stat that might prove key to winning the 2925 championship.
"One of my sisters, in Spain, that was her first race outside of Australia, and that was a good weekend."
Putting two and two together, the Australian then asserted: "Now my grandfather, the same, so maybe I need to get my family members one by one for the rest of the races."
Ending on a more serious note, Piastri concluded: "It seemed like the best person to dedicate it to. It's a nice thing to do.
