Max Verstappen and Lando Norris locked horns on multiple occasions in Miami. The Briton eventually got past the defending world champion, but after one of his failed attempts, he made his reaction clear. Already after the start, Verstappen and Norris had a battle for the lead. After the Dutchman defended tough, Norris lost multiple positions and down to P6.
After the
McLaren driver had to overtake Alexander Albon and the two Mercedes drivers, he once again got up to be behind Verstappen.
After one of his attempts to overtake into Turn 1, the Briton was not happy with the way Verstappen defended. While F1 drivers cannot show their emotions on their face because of their helmet like competitors could do in other sports, Norris made his feelings clear, showing his middle finger in the heat of the moment.
Starting from second place on the grid, Norris also finished in the same position in the end. He is currently 16 points behind Oscar Piastri in the standings.
After the Grand Prix, the driver said about fighting against Verstappen: "It's the way it is with Max – it's crash or don't pass. Unless you get it really right and you put him in the perfect position, then you can just about get there."
