Lando Norris said he did not know that Max Verstappen took part in a GT3 event around the Nurburgring, saying that is something "he would not like to do" while being an F1 driver. The talk of the paddock at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix was Verstappen's
performance as Franz Hermann on the world-famous Nordschleife circuit, apart from Lando Norris,
as evident from his response.
The Dutchman took to the German circuit in a GT3 car, something he is hugely passionate about, to unofficially set a new lap record behind the wheel, just days after becoming a father for the first time.
Many people in
Imola were talking about the build-up Verstappen had to the race weekend in Italy, with Nico Hulkenberg being one of those people, saying he
"did not see the problem" with the 27-year-old taking part in the event.Norris currently sits P2 in the world championship standings behind teammate Oscar Piastri
Norris none the wiser to Verstappen's adventure
Like everyone else, Norris was asked
about Verstappen's achievements at the Nordschleife. However, Norris claimed to know nothing about it. "No, I don't have social media," was the brief reply from the Brit in the Imola paddock to several media sources, including GPblog.
The McLaren driver was then briefed on what Verstappen had done in Germany during the week, then asked if that would be something he would like to do if his team were to allow him to do such a thing.
" I mean, I could do, but I don't want to. Very happy for Max," Norris concluded with a laugh.
