The Nürburgring Nordschleife has issued a traffic alert to fans as Max Verstappen, among several other drivers, takes to the track for the NLS doubleheader.

The iconic Nürburgring circuit is set to take centre stage in the world of motosports, with the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series on the itinerary for the weekend.

This year’s race in particular has largely caught the attention of several Formula 1 fans, with Red Bull Racing driver Verstappen set to compete through the weekend. However, with the four-time F1 champion set to partake in the race and with the buzz the weekend continues to garner, the Nürburgring has issued a warning to fans with regard to their arrival at the track.

Taking to its social media, the circuit's official Instagram handle wrote:

“⚠️ Traffic at NLS7+8! 👀 We are expecting a high number of visitors to our double-header this weekend. We therefore ask spectators to arrive in good time and allow enough time for possible delays.”

The weekend in Nürburgring is to feature two races. Saturday will feature the qualification for the first race of the doubleheader, and Sunday is also set to feature several other races around its iconic 20.832 km circuit.

Where will Max Verstappen be competing at Nürburgring

Max Verstappen is expected to hit the track for several sessions set to herald the weekend at the Nürburgring. The Dutch driver is, however, not expected to compete in the GT3 category, due to the category of his license.

Verstappen will, however, participate in the GT4 category, and in any instance he completes 14 laps will be licensed to participate in the GT3 race on Sunday.

It is worth noting that this will not be Verstappen’s first outing at the Nürburgring. Earlier in May, the Red Bull driver unofficially broke the lap record during a test session.
