The 29-year-old, speaking to GPblog during the Grand Prix in COTA, expressed hopes that the updates will solve the issues the Haas VF-25 car currently faces. The French driver drew parallels with the team’s previous upgrade package at the British Grand Prix, which delivered positive results.

“I hope it’s going to help with some of the issues we usually see with the car, giving us a bit more balance in the places we need. The last time we brought the upgrade in Silverstone, that was the direction it went; it was a positive step, and I hope this will go a step further and give us a bit more grip as well. That would be nice. We’ll see.”

The Haas team enters the United States Grand Prix with renewed optimism. Aside from its special livery announced for its home race, team principal Ayao Komatsu also detailed his optimism about the updates to the VF-25 car.

The American outfit returned to the points last time out in Singapore and will be looking to continue in that trajectory in front of its home crowd.

Ocon lauds Haas team for COTA upgrades

Ocon also praised the Haas technical team for the upgrades to the car. The former Alpine driver explained how challenging it can be to find a window for an update, particularly at this stage of the current regulations.

Ocon concluded with optimism that these updates will translate into more points for the American outfit.

“A great push by the whole team to keep finding some stuff at this stage of this regulation. It’s not an easy thing to find performance now with how long this regulation has been in place and how tight everything is”

“Hopefully, we’ll find a little bit of performance, and that’s going to give us a bit more help to score points more frequently.”
