"We've run without really any problems. So full credit to everyone at VCARB, and also RBPT and Ford for the support."

The British rookie completed his first day of driving at the 2026 pre-season test in Barcelona on Wednesday.

During the afternoon session, Lindblad caused a red flag after the VCARB03 stopped on track, but according to the youngster, there were no issues throughout the day.

Speaking to F1.com, he said: "Really good. I was obviously very happy to run today. The plan was to run yesterday, but obviously with the rain, it got delayed. So I was very excited to get my first proper go this morning. I really enjoyed the day. It's been really good.

"We've run without really any problems. So full credit to everyone at VCARB, and also RBPT and Ford for the support. I think on that side, it's been really good. And yeah, we got through the programme. There's some bits to work on, but generally I think it's been a positive day and I'm happy with how it's gone."

Lindblad praises the new Red Bull Ford power unit

After Isack Hadjar's crash on Tuesday, Lindblad drove the only Red Bull Ford-powered car on this occasion.

The young driver was very positive about Red Bull's first-ever in-house power unit, developed in collaboration with Ford.

He said: "Yes, I mean, obviously there's a few things to improve, but it's been really impressive, I think, for the main part.

"There haven't really been any reliability problems. The issues I'm talking about, they're relatively small.

"There's things that can be improved, but they're much better than I was expecting.

"So honestly, massive, massive credit to everyone at RBPT and Ford for helping sort of put it together and to get to this point. And yeah, just looking forward to getting to work."

Lindblad reportedly set the seventh fastest time today in Barcelona. He clocked an unofficial time of 1:19.420.
